Preview – Smoke Eaters look for weekend split in Wenatchee

After a positive showing on Friday night against the Wild the Smoke Eaters will look to come out on the right side of the score line.

If the Smoke Eaters can play like they did in the third period last night and bury some of their chances earlier in the game they’re bound to come out with the result. Trail started strong in the first but fell behind in the second as the Wild pushed back, scoring twice. The third the Smoke Eaters were able to turn around a 3-0 deficit with two goals from Trey Fechko and one from Adam Parsons. The Smoke Eaters had a handful of other scoring opportunities from a variety of players, which this early on, and in the teams first preseason game, is nice to see. This afternoon we’ll see a variety of lineup changes as the players who sat out on Friday will draw back in.

The Wild will be happy with their performance, two powerplay goals and a victory to start the preseason. The Wild posted a lineup with a large core of returning players and those players helped produce. Cade Littler har three points, Garrett Szydlowski scored the winner and Andy Vlaha was perfect through the opening 40 minutes of play. The Wild are likely to see just as many lineup changes as the Smoke Eaters as they too try and narrow down their roster.

Puck drop from Wenatchee is at 4pm as the Smoke Eaters look to head home with a win under their belt. Catch the game exclusively on the Smoke Eaters Mixlr feed, as there will be no video stream available for this afternoon.
