Carson Briere Commits Div. 1 Mercyhurst University Lakers for 2020/21.
Trail, British Columbia (March 21st, 2020) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the commitment of #16 Carson Briere to Mercyhurst University to play division 1 hockey next season.
Briere, who finished his 20-year-old season with the Smoke Eaters, joined the team in December as he returned from NCAA. Briere played a total of 27 games for the Smokies where he had 12 points. Prior to coming to the Smoke Eaters Briere had 89 points in 59 games in the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
The commitment from Briere bring the total number of Smoke Eaters committed to Div. 1 programs to 11.
Briere will join former BCHLers Owen Norton who played for the Surrey Eagles, Brendan Schneider who payed for the Merritt Centennials and Carver Watson who played for the Vernon Vipers as current BCHL Alumni.
The Smoke Eaters would like to congratulate Carson Briere on his commitment to Mercyhurst University and wish him the best of luck in his hockey career!
