Smoke Eaters and Bucks announce Kootenay Cup
Trail, British Columbia (October 2nd, 2020) – The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the Kootenay Cup competition, between the Smoke Eaters and the Cranbrook Bucks.
The Kootenay cup, sponsored by AM Ford in Trail and Denham Ford in Cranbrook, will be a best of 7 series for bragging rights across the Kootenays. The series will be played during the exhibition schedule between October and November. The first two games will be considered exhibition games and will not be included in the standings. While the following seven games, 
will count towards the Kootenay Cup standings. All 7 games will be played, but the first team to win four games will claim the Kootenay Cup.
The sponsor partners, AM Ford and Denham Ford, have agreed to have some fun with the East vs. West rivalry. The winning team will send over a team jersey to the losing teams Ford dealership. The sales manager will wear their opponents jersey for an entire work day, including posting a few photos on their social media outlets as proof.
The Smoke Eaters look forward to adding this competitive element to our preseason schedule and are excited to get these games underway. All games will be available on HockeyTV.com
